Wedding Hair/Makeup on the day

Morining Prep!

Please have your hair ready for me on the morning. For best results please wash and dry your hair the night before but no heat styling, just leave it natural with no product. If you are wearing extensions please make sure these are prepped the same way. Please note - some styles do require the use of hair pieces or extensions and therefore may include a small surcharge as they take longer. Haircare advice on how to get your hair looking nice and healthy for the big day can be discussed at your trial. I am also a Hairdresser with many years behind the chair offering colouring & cutting services as well.

For makeup please cleanse, exfoilate & moisturize in the morning and avoid fake tanning on your face. Also monthly facials & a good skin care routine are reccomended on the lead up to the big day!

Trials

Team Bride!

Bride trials can take place at your home or in salon NG15 7LD.

For each service please allow around 2-4hours for trials and 1hour 30mins for the bride on the day. Bridesmaids & Mother of the bride are not required to have a trial, only if they wish. Please allow approx 45mins -1hour on the day.

Don’t worry I am used to early morning starts!

Please bring along your hair accessories/veil and any inspo pictures. If your are using hair pieces or extensions please ensure they are natural human hair and are compatible with heat styling. If you have any allergies/sensitive skin please mention this at the beginning of your trial.

Top Tip! If you wear a top with the same colour & neckline as your dress this will enable you to have a better vision of how you will look on the wedding day.

Terms & Conditions

Please read carefully through the terms and conditions.

By paying a deposit you are entering a contract with Helena Murden Bridal Hairdresser and therefore agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

Please check all the details of the T&Cs to avoid any misunderstanding and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

(I, meaning myself Helena Murden or Helena Murden Bridal Hairdresser)

(You, meaning the client and or Bride/Groom)

(The agreement)

DEPOSITS

1a.  A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of £200.00 is required to secure your booking. This deposit will secure your wedding date, and no other wedding will be booked on your date.

1b. Please note your booking will not be confirmed until your deposit has been paid in full and cleared in my bank account. You will then receive a confirmation email to confirm your booking has been secured.

1c. Your deposit will then be deducted from your final balance. This deposit covers any administration/correspondence between yourself and I for your booking and, also any time/services received at your trial.

1d. Your deposit will be forfeited by cancellation or rearrangement by you, the client.

1e. If you have a large number of guests in your booking, or an early start time that requires a third-party stylist, you may be asked to pay an additional non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of up to but no greater than £200.00. This deposit also relates to terms 1a,1b,1c,1d.

PAYMENTS

2a. Payments can be accepted by way of BAC’s or cash. All payments must be received in full before the start of any services.

2b. Your final payment must be cleared, in full, no less than 30 days before the event date. Failure to make any final payments may result in your booking being cancelled and you will forfeit any earlier payments that have been made.

2c. All payments are the responsibility of the client/bride or groom and not any other bridal party members, guests or family.

2d. Please note, I do not accept cheques.

2e. If a last-minute booking is made less than 30 days before the event date then payment in full is due to secure the booking.

CONTACT

3a. All communication should be solely with the bride/groom, and I will only discuss the details of the booking with the bride or groom. This is regardless of whomever else may be paying or contributing towards the booking.  

3b. It is the responsibility of the bride/groom to accept these terms and conditions.  You are responsible for all payments on the booking.

COMMUNICATION

4a. I, Helena Murden will respond to all emails, calls and communication personally. Due to the nature of the business, please understand that if I am working out on location with a client, there may be a delay in getting back to you.  I do however pride myself on excellent response times.  If you have not received a reply from me within seven workings days, then please feel free to send me a reminder.

4b. To keep open lines of communication I kindly ask that you contact me only via email or a telephone call. As much as I love to connect with all my brides and grooms through social media sometimes messages can get lost or missed.

INSURANCE

5a. I, Helena Murden hold public liability insurance through NIG.  Please note third party stylists work independently and will have their own insurance which may differ to mine.

5b. I strongly recommend all clients to take out their own wedding insurance in the unlikely event of something going wrong with a supplier or venue.

Helena Murden Bridal Hairdresser will not be held responsible for any cancellations or disruptions made by any third parties.

TEAM

6a. Each member of the team is a freelance artist and therefore are responsible for their own independent business and therefore considered a third party.

6b. All team members booked to assist with services will uphold similar training and professional standards.

6c. Helena Murden Bridal Hairdresser will not be held responsible for any third-party stylists and the performance of these stylists is beyond my control.  I will, however, do anything I can to rectify any problems that may arise.

CANCELLATIONS

7a. I, Helena Murden, reserve the right to terminate this contract at any point for any non-compliance of the terms. The contract will become null, and void and any monies given will be non-refundable.

7b. You, the client, can cancel at any point, however any deposit paid will not be refunded and in the event the client cancels any time up to 12 weeks prior to the wedding date 50% of the final balance will also need to be paid. Any cancelations with less than 12 weeks’ notice prior to the wedding date then the remaining balance will need to be paid in full.

7c. The bride/groom has the full responsibility of notifying me in writing via email or my website contact form of any cancelations to the booking.

7d. Cancellation of any guest services is not permitted once the booking has been made. I understand that sometimes guests cannot make the wedding day due to several reasons, however timings and assistants are arranged as soon as your booking is made, and a schedule is made off the original information you give.

7e. I will only ever cancel your booking in extreme circumstances such as illness, death of a close family member, pregnancy, extreme weather, natural disasters or government enforces. In the event of any of these circumstances I reserve the right to find a suitable replacement stylist with similar experience/standards to mine and all your trial photos/face charts and product lists will be given to the new stylist to assist them in creating your chosen look.  In the event no replacement can be found then a full refund will be given to you, the client within seven working days.

7f. Although I operate a non-transferable policy, I understand that life has unexpected events that may occur. If you need to transfer your event and I have the date available, I will be happy to move it to your new chosen date. Please note there may be a slight price increase if moving to a date that is next year onwards. If the new date is not available then your booking will be forfeited by you and subject to cancellation terms 7b, 7c & 7g.

7g. If the client needs to cancel and rearrange the trial date, I require 48 hours notice. Failure to do so within the 48 hour period will result in a full trial charge and will be added onto the final balance. A new trial must then be arranged and paid for in full at the time of the rearrangement.

TRAVEL

8a. Travel is included on the event date to one location where you are getting ready of up to 30 miles of NG15 7LD.  Locations that are further may be subject to a small travel charge to be included in the original pricing quote.

8b. I am happy to travel to any location, however any venue over 2 hours drive from NG15 7LD is subject to an overnight stay paid for by the client at a Premier Inn Hotel or equivalent.

8c. I am also pleased to offer destination wedding/event services. For international bookings, all return flights, travel, insurance, visa, accommodation, parking and food expenses shall be paid by the client. These will be arranged and paid in full by the client. The client will share all the booking details with myself as soon as these arrangements have been made and keep me informed of any changes to the schedule . International bookings require me to arrive at your chosen venue no later than 24 hours before my service start time and to leave no earlier than 24 hours after my services finish time. Please take this into consideration when booking.

8d. Please note that my pricing for destination/international events is bespoke to each booking and the prices on my website are for UK bookings only. For any bookings that require overseas travel please contact me for a personalized quote before making any payment regarding your booking. Failure to do so may result in your booking becoming void and any deposits/monies will be forfeited.

8e. I cannot be held responsible for any transport/flight delays, extreme weather or government enforced restrictions whilst travelling to an international wedding/event.

LOCATION

9a. It is the clients' responsibility to provide clear directions to the getting ready location.

9b. If you are staying overnight at your getting ready location, please provide me with your room number or name of the room/area in which you would like me to set up.

9c. I cannot be held responsible for any extreme weather. Road closures or traffic delays. If you know of any of these prior to my arrival, then please notify me as soon as possible so I can allow more time and set off earlier in the morning.

9d. If your location is in a rural area with poor signal, please provide me with a landline number in which to contact you.

9e. There are certain requirements that must be provided at your chosen location for me to carry out my services. Please make sure there is a large table or clear area to place my tools and products, an electric outlet, ample natural lighting, hand washing facilities and a well-ventilated space.

9f. A lot of wedding venues have an allotted time in which you can enter the getting ready area. If this does not allow us to use this area for the full getting ready time, then it is strongly advised that you provide a different location in which to get ready. I am happy to move to your chosen venue after all the services are completed to provide touch-ups before you walk down the aisle. Please note that this location change may incur a cost. See terms 8a & 8b.

CLIENT OBLIGATIONS

10a. Please ensure that there is a safe, suitable working environment. See term 9e.

10b. Please ensure every member of the bridal party receiving services is aware of the timing schedule and is available for the application of makeup/hair services at the time of my arrival. I cannot be held responsible for any lateness caused by guests not being available on time.

10c. Please ensure prior to services that guests have clean, dried hair and their skin is free from any makeup or skincare. Any guests failing to do this may result in running late, services being refused and/or the finished look being compromised.  

10d. I refuse the right to provide any services to guests deemed to have poor hygiene, be late, rude or offensive.

10e. You agree to make yourself the bride/groom, fully available on the day to help with any decision making and to ensure you are happy with all of the services provided. Failure to bring any concerns to my attention on the day cannot be rectified later.

ALLERGIES & CONTRAINDICATIONS

11a. It is the client’s responsibility to inform all stylists of any previously known allergies or reactions to any skincare, make-up or hair care products for themselves and all the bridal party guests.

11b. I reserve the right to refuse application or services to any client or guest deemed to have any contagious conditions such as flu.  Or infections such as any skin or eye infections and disease, cold sores or open wounds.  Any hair infestations, any burns or temperature.

11c. All tools, brushes or makeup products used are to be kept sanitary in between services so please allow time for this.

11d. Products and services are carefully selected to meet your needs; however, I cannot be held responsible for any new or undisclosed allergies or reactions. I cannot be held responsible for the longevity of the service due to things out of my control such as the weather or any steaming of dresses, showering after my services or any alterations made by the bride/groom or bridal party guests after I have completed my services.

TIMINGS

12a. A suggested schedule will be discussed with you after we have met for your trial and have a clear understanding of each guest’s final look.

12b. timings are based on the information you give me at the time of booking so please ensure that all guests are ready at the allocated time.

12c. My start time is based on you providing me with a clear work environment please see term 9e.

12d. I will always aim to have finished my services 30 minutes before the end time agreed with yourself and will be available for last-minute touch-ups.

12e. I am used to early starts, however any services that require a start time before 5am will be subject to a fee of £50.00 per stylist.

TRIALS

13a. Each booking includes one trial for hair/makeup or both depending on the services required. For a hair or makeup trial please allow 2 hours. For both hair and makeup please allow 4 hours.

13b. Trials take place at my salon HD Hair, 27 Watnall Road, Hucknall, Nottingham, NG15 7LD. In some cases, I may be able to travel to you. This may however incur a small travel fee. See terms 8a & 8b.

13c. Trials are restricted to Mondays-Thursdays.  If I am available, I may be able to offer a Sunday, but these are rare appointments.

13d. Trials are to be held roughly 2-3 months before the wedding date. Please arrive with clean, fully dried hair. (no straightening or products) and clear skin with no makeup or skincare. Please also come wearing a suitable top. Tops/jumpers with a high neck or collar can often get in the way of hair styling and makeup application. (Top tip, it helps to wear white or a similar colour to what you’re wearing on the day)

13e. Your inspirational photos for your chosen look along with a recent unedited, unfiltered picture of yourself are to be sent over to me prior to your trial via email. Failure to do so may result in us not having enough time to complete your trial. If we need a second trial, or you would like to try out more than one look then this will be an additional appointment and additional charge.

13f.  Additional trials will be charged accordingly with my pricing at the time. Please see my website for up-to-date fees.

13g. The client will be responsible for choosing the looks for each guest and ensuring I have a clear understanding of what service each guest would like. You are responsible for discussing this with your guests prior to the event date.

13h. Make-up services include strip lashes, or bespoke cluster lashes for the bride and strip lashes for each guest.

13i. Some hair styles require hair extensions for thickness and hold. If after your initial consultation I recommend them to you, please bring them to your trial. Hair extensions must be real human hair that can withstand heat styling. I will not be able to use any synthetic hair.

13j. Please bring along any hair accessories, veil or favorite lipstick along to your trial.

13h. If I need to rearrange your trial, I will give you a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. In the event of me being unwell or an emergency I will give you as much notice as possible and contact you to reschedule.

DATA PROTECTION

14a. Any details or data collected from yourselves by any communication between us via email, telephone or my website will be held by the upmost privacy and remain strictly confidential. It will not be passed onto any third party.

14b. If a third-party stylist is required, they will only have information on the looks for each guest, and the time, date and the location of the event to be able to carry out their services.

14c. In the event of illness or emergency, I hold the right to make enquiries to a third-party stylist to cover my services for your day.  They will only be given the necessary contact information for yourself and can then liaise with you to ensure the smooth takeover of services.  Monies paid to me by yourself will be used to pay the replacement stylist in full and there will be no additional costs.

PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEOGRAPHY & IMAGES

15a. The client agrees that any photography, videography or images taken at any time during the trial or event day by myself or any hired third-party stylist may be used on my website, social media or any other promotional products.

15b. I will agree to share any of these images solely with the client, bride/groom. Photography and videography are often used at trials to help us to see how your chosen look reflects on camera. Also, they are used for reference to help recreate your look on the event day.

15c. I, Helena Murden agree to participate in any photography/videography taken by a professional supplier on the event day, provided that any images shared on the other supplier’s social media platforms are credited to Helena Murden Bridal Hairdresser. Failure to credit my work may result in a request for removal or proper accreditation and in the worst cases lead to illegal copywrite action being taken against them.

15d. I, Helena Murden will refrain from sharing any images taken from the trial or event day until at least 24 hours after the event.

15e. With the photographer/videographer/content creators’ consent, I may contact them to request any images taken from the event day to use and share on my social media platforms and will credit them in the same manner.

15f. If you do not agree with any of the above terms for photography, videography images and do not wish for them to be used on social media or marketing you must put this in writing to me at the time of booking.

ADDITIONAL EXPENSES

16a. Any additional expenses such as tolls or parking charges are to be covered by the client. It is your responsibility to disclose any known parking charges at your chosen getting ready venue at the time of booking. Failure to do so may result in additional fees.

16b. Any additional ULEZ or Congestion charges around your chosen getting ready location will be covered by you the client. This will need to be disclosed at the time of booking so these can be pre-paid to avoid any unexpected costs or fines that you the client take sole responsibility for.

16c. Weddings in the London area will incur an additional flat fee of £150 per booking.

EXCLUSIVITY

17a. I kindly request exclusivity for all hair and makeup bookings for your event. This is to ensure a harmonious overall look for yourself and all the bridal party guests. If you have already secured a supplier and are looking for a hair or makeup only service from myself, you are required to provide details of any other supplier before I can confirm your booking. Failure to do so may result in your booking becoming void and any monies already paid will be forfeited.

17b. Any images taken by any other hair or makeup supplier must be accredited to Helena Murden Bridal Hairdresser if they are to be used on any social media or marketing platforms and failure to do so maybe subject to copywrite legal action taken against them.
